Last night I decided to pull off some footage off my DV from my trip to California over the Christmas holiday. I just put a clip of some Sea Otters I saw while I was visiting the aquarium in Monterey, California up on YouTube.

TOKYO–Toshiba Corporation today announced that it has undertaken a thorough review of its overall strategy for HD DVD and has decided it will no longer develop, manufacture and market HD DVD players and recorders. Well it seems the next addition to the Indiana Jones Series will hit theaters on May 22nd of this year. I can’t wait for this to hit, I have been drooling to see this ever since it was announced it was going into production. Here is a link to the trailer to get you drooling as well. Well it seems as if it is official, 24 will not be returning until 2009. It has been mentioned by two different individuals who are close the project that it will not be returning until 2009 even though they already have 8 episodes already shot. To add to that news, executive producer Joel Surnow will be leaving 24 effective immediately. The links bellow will get you to the appropriate articles concerning the show. 24 Executive Producer Joel Surnow Leaving Show 24 Creator Surnow Clocks Out
HD-DVD is dead, so says Netflix! I received this in my email today. It seems that Netflix has declared Blu-ray the winner in the format war. It doesn’t mean much to me since I have both players. In my humble opinion I always saw HD-DVD as the superior format as to what it had to offer compared to Blu-ray. I guess it all came down to whoever could throw the most money around to influence the studios would win. I guess getting one of the four formats to mass adoption was worth throwing all that money around. Having a fourth proprietary format fail would have really hurt Sony as far as being an innovator. The other failed formats being BetaMax, ATRAC and MemoryStick. To this day I still don’t understand why they peddle memory stick format for the majority of their cameras and their PSP.
Out of left field, Microsoft has bought Danger Inc. best-known as the Hiptop/Sidekick’s daddy for an undisclosed hunk of cash. Fear not, Sidekick fans, it’ll be business as usual on that front. But this pretty much confirms that Microsoft’s new growth strategy in areas it’s obsessed with but weak in is simple, ill-fitted assimilation. Obviously, the goal is to grab Danger’s mobile expertise, but I’m not really seeing the mesh here. Well, two words, maybe: Zune Phone. The full, official details below.
Microsoft Agrees to Acquire Danger Inc., Strengthens Mobile Consumer Vision Acquisition of popular software and mobile services company will enhance Microsoft’s ability to broadly deliver compelling mobile experiences.
Well it looks as if the Writer’s strike will be over soon with the negotiating recommending acceptance of the contract worked out with the studios. The West board of directors as well and the East Coast guild’s council agreeing and urging it members to vote and ratify the contract. Good news for all the TV viewers in general tired of the crazy number of reality shows being pushed down our throats by the networks. However it is yet to be seen if any of the shows that ran out of episodes will be back this year or merely left out there until next season. As far as my favorite show ’24’, it is doubtful that this show will air this season at all. The closet I will get to 24 this year will be probably be this item I picked up at a Spencer’s today. 🙂
Setting up a number of MacBook Airs that arrived today. After holding one of these I can say it is way cooler than any commercial can display. Well off I go to load on the VPN software needed to connect these to the corporate LAN and hand them out.
My NY Giants win the Superbowl as I predicted weeks ago!!!!! Alright I was off by 3 points, who cares. All the experts wrote off the Giants from the beginning, now go eat crow! See you guys later I have an appointment with a fine bottle of Scotch to celebrate!
Since the playoffs started I have been arguing with everyone telling them that the Giants are going all the way. Everyone thought I was nuts and wanted to have me committed. Well here we are, the eve of the Superbowl in which the Giants will face off against the Patriots. Nearly everyone on the planet believes the Patriots are a sure win with a double digit lead to boot. I’ll tell you now what I told everyone else when the Giants were heavy underdogs during the playoffs: ‘This team is not the same team you know from the regular season’. The last time the Patriots played the Giants they only won by three points, three measly little points. The thought of this being a blowout by the Patriots is a joke. My prediction is that the Giants win by at least six points. That’s just my opinion I could be wrong, but highly doubtful.
